Fragments of Brazil - Part II - Dreams

This is the River Maragogi, in Northeastern Brazil, about 3,400 km from where I sit now. This is the point where it meets the sea.

The sea can be seen in this one.

Another view of the river.

This region has an ecosystem called 'Mangue' or 'Manguezal' (Mangal), inhabited by various plant and animal species, among them, the crab.

Now, the sea of Maragogi, with its calm and warm waters

Sea weeds leave their mark in the sand

Lunch time. The main course is Sea Turtle.

Greeting the sea.

Lu,

I looove all the photos. They are just gorgeous! I showed it to a friend of mine. She looked mesmirized. They are therapeutic indeed. I especially love the art by sea weeds! Aren't they such artists? They work well with sand and sea water.

Among the photos, I spotted old Rebb. I think it's the six photo down. I like new Rebb, but I was wondering where old Rebb has gone to. What is she doing in Brazil?

Wonderful photos, Lu! I really like the walking bridges under the river. Are those homes to the right or is this a vacation spot (dreams)? It must be quite a joy to wake every morning to the sights of the day.

Of course, I love the crabs! It’s amazing how hearty they look compared to the ones I saw walking around in Hawaii. The single crab is great. I just keep getting this image that he is playing his trumpet the way his little arm is held up. Yes, the seaweed photos are fantastic!

There you go making me laugh again, Keiko! :)

Pois é cunhada! Temos que conhecê-lo, não? Já pensou os pezinhos do Gabriel numa água quentinha dessas? :-)

The place is very therapeutic, Keiko, you got it so right! To walk barefoot on the warm sand late afternoon is one of the best 'mind-calmers' there is (in my opinion).
I took that picture of 'Old Rebb' from one of the bridges. The Mangal is under the bridges by the river. It´s a preservation spot, so the crabs are left alone.

Hi Rebbs! It´s an 'ecological resort' in a very unique area, that is , where the river meets the sea. And it´s a preservation area as well, with all the ecosystem of the Mangals left in peace. They have beautiful trails where you can spot the crabs really close. That´s why I call it 'dreams', yes. :-)

They are! I probably looked like a nut taking photos of the sand, but they were worth it! :-)
